The Fundamentals of Verbal and Non-verbal Communication and the Biometrical Issue

PARTICIPANTS WILL BE COVERED by NATO with 600 EUROS,
250 for registration fee and 350 for accommodation
The remaining extra cost of 300 euros is for the 10 days accommodation

 

ADDRESSERS: The school is devoted to students and scientists working in the fields of the multimodal communication and its application to biometrics. Several half-days will be devoted to participants’ short contributions, to allow exchanges and discussions. Participants are invited to submit short contributions sending the title and the abstract together the application form.

APPLICATION Procedure

ELIGIBILITY
The school is open to all motivated research scientists, of any nationality.
Applicants with few experience should include a recommendation letter of their supervisor.

SCHOOL COSTS

Registration fee is 250 Euros (include banquet, excursion, coffee breaks, and proceedings)

Accommodation cost is 650 Euros (include Bed (in double room), Breakfast and lunch for September 2 to September 12 2006 night excluded)

NATO SUPPORT

1.       NATO supports the registration fee to all participants coming from NATO, Partner Mediterranean and Eligible Partner Countries as listed on http://www.nato.int/science/how_to_apply/who_can_apply.htm . PLEASE CHECK IN THE LIST FOR THE ELIGIBILITY. A participant’s country is defined as the country of permanent residence;

2.     NATO partially supports  accommodations and lunch to participants coming from NATO,  Eligible Partner and Mediterranean Countries up to a maximum of 350 Euros (depending on the number of applications).

NATO support will be awarded according the following criteria:

a)     Participants will be awarded on the basis of their qualifications, their potential contributions, and the benefits that they may draw from the meeting for their future activities. To this aim, applicants should attach a letter justifying their request for support. Young scientists should attach a recommendation letter from their advisor;

b)    All participants are expected to remain for the full duration of the meeting;

c)     To apply for the NATO SUPPORT participants should specify their request in the APPLICATION FORM below;

The support awarded and all the remaining information needed for the participation at the school will be notified to the applicants on June 20 2006.

ISCA SUPPORT

Young students for any Country can apply for support directly to ISCA according the rules reported on http://www.isca-speech.org/grants.html

SCHOLARSHIPS

Few scholarships are available for participants from NON eligible Partner Countries by the local organization. To apply for the scholarship participants should include a scholarship justification request as specified by the APPLICATION FORM below.
